A token is missing in Phantom

  • Updated

If you or someone else recently transferred a token to your account and you don't see it in Phantom, follow the steps in this guide.

If you bought tokens with a credit or debit card or other payment method using the Buy button in Phantom, see Buy tokens in Phantom for troubleshooting steps.

A token can go missing for a few reasons: Phantom may have hidden it as spam, the transfer may still be processing or may have failed, or it may have been sent to the wrong address or chain. The steps below will help you figure out which.

Step 1: Confirm the receiving address and chain

Tokens sent to the wrong address or chain cannot be recovered. Before investigating further, verify that the sender used the correct details.

  1. In Phantom, on the Home tab, select Receive.
  2. Select the chain where you're expecting the token.
  3. Confirm this is the exact address the tokens were sent to.

If the chain doesn't match and it's an EVM chain Phantom doesn't support, see Recover tokens sent to a chain Phantom doesn't support. If the address doesn't match, the tokens cannot be recovered.

Step 2: Check the blockchain explorer

Blockchain explorers show all transactions for your address, including ones that haven't appeared in Phantom yet.

  1. Copy your address from Phantom by selecting Receive, then selecting the chain.
  2. Open the explorer for your chain. See Blockchain explorers by network for links.
  3. Paste your address and look for the incoming transaction.

If you have a transaction ID from the sender or exchange, search for that directly. The status will tell you what's happening:

  • Pending: The transaction is still processing. Wait for it to confirm.
  • Successful: The transaction completed. If your tokens still aren't showing in Phantom, continue to Step 3.
  • Failed: The transaction didn't go through. Contact the sender or exchange.

Step 3: Check your hidden tokens

Phantom flags tokens automatically when they appear misleading, unsafe, or spammy. Your token may have been hidden. See Manage hidden tokens in Phantom to check and turn it back on.

If the token doesn't appear in the hidden list, it may be filtered more strictly by Phantom. See A token is flagged as spam in Phantom for more details.

Step 4: Contact the sender or exchange

If the blockchain shows no incoming transaction, the transfer may not have been sent yet.

  • Exchange withdrawal: Check your withdrawal history in the exchange app. If it shows as complete but the transaction isn't on the blockchain, contact that exchange's support team.
  • Another wallet: Ask the sender to confirm the transaction ID and that they used the correct address and chain.

Phantom cannot speed up transfers, recover tokens sent to the wrong address, or access exchange accounts.
