You can create a wallet in Phantom by signing in with your Google account or Apple account. This type of wallet is sometimes called a seedless wallet or email wallet.
During setup, you’ll create a 4-digit PIN. You’ll use your email and PIN to restore your wallet on a new device or after resetting the app.
Create a new wallet with a Google or Apple account
Browser extension
- Download Phantom from phantom.com/download.
- Click Create a new wallet → Continue with Email.
- Click Continue with Apple or Continue with Google, then follow the prompts.
- Set a 4-digit PIN. You’ll use it to restore your wallet on new devices.
- Create a password. This password unlocks Phantom only in your current browser and doesn’t replace your PIN. Your password must be at least 8 characters. Special characters and numbers are optional but recommended.
- Create a Phantom username.
After setup, you’ll receive a welcome email with tips to get started.

- Tap Create a new wallet → Continue with Email.

- Turn on device authentication (Face ID, fingerprint, or passcode). This unlocks Phantom only on your current device and doesn’t replace your PIN.

Add more accounts to your wallet
You can create multiple accounts under the same wallet. Each account includes addresses on all supported networks.
- Select your profile avatar in the upper-left corner.
- Select Add Account → Create New Account.
- Name the account and select Create.

Delete your wallet and create a new one with the same email
If you created your wallet with Google or Apple login, you can delete it and create a new wallet using the same email. This is useful if you want to start fresh.
- Go to Settings → Security & Privacy.
- Select Delete Wallet and follow the prompts.
- Restart Phantom and select Create a new wallet.
- Select Apple or Google and complete the setup.
After you create your new wallet, update your profile settings so your username routes to your new addresses.

- Click your profile avatar.
- Click Settings, then click your username.
- Click Privacy, and choose Private or Public.
- Go to Public Addresses.
- Click each network name to update the address.
Mobile app
- Tap your profile avatar.
- Tap Profile → Edit Profile.
- Tap Privacy and choose Private or Public.
- Tap Public Addresses.
- Tap each network name to update the address.

FAQ
How is this secure?
When you create a wallet using Apple or Google account, your wallet still has a recovery phrase. Phantom encrypts it, and the encryption key is split into two parts:
- One part is held by Phantom.
- The other part is stored across the decentralized Juicebox network.
No single party, not even Phantom, can decrypt your wallet without your email and PIN.
What is the PIN used for?
You use your PIN to restore your wallet on new devices and after resetting the app.
What if I forget my PIN?
If you’re still logged in on another device, reset your PIN in Settings → Security & Privacy → Reset PIN.
If you’re not logged in anywhere, you can’t recover the wallet unless you previously exported your recovery phrase or private key.
Can I use Outlook email or other providers to sign in to Phantom?
No. Phantom supports sign-in only with Google or Apple.
What happens if I enter the wrong PIN too many times?
After seven attempts, the system deletes your encrypted backup. You can recover only if you still have a logged-in device or previously exported your recovery phrase.
Can I reset or change my PIN?
Yes. On a device where you're logged in, go to Settings → Security & Privacy → Reset PIN.
Can I change the email I used to create my wallet?
No. You can’t change the Google account or Apple account used to create your wallet. If your email was compromised, see I want to change my Phantom email.
Can I create multiple wallets with the same email?
No. One email can only be used to create one wallet.
Can I create multiple accounts with the same email?
Yes. Select your profile avatar in the upper-left corner, then select Add Account → Create New Account → Create. Each new account is linked to your email login.
Can I link my email to a wallet created with a recovery phrase?
No. You can’t add an email login to a wallet created with a recovery phrase.
Does my seedless wallet still have a recovery phrase?
Yes. To view it, go to Settings → Security & Privacy → Show Recovery Phrase. We recommend that you export the recovery phrase as an additional backup option.
Can I export my seedless wallet to another app?
Yes. First, export your recovery phrase from Settings → Security & Privacy → Show Recovery Phrase, then import it into another app.
