If you see unknown usernames or unexpected accounts in your wallet, it is likely because someone else has access to your recovery phrase or private key.
A recovery phrase always generates the same set of accounts and usernames for anyone who holds it. This means that if your recovery phrase was shared, stolen, or imported from an untrusted source, another person's accounts and usernames can appear alongside yours in Phantom.
Secure your wallet
If you don't recognize accounts or usernames in your wallet, act quickly to move your funds to a new wallet that only you control.
- Back up your current wallet by exporting your recovery phrase and any imported private keys. Go to Settings → Security & Privacy → Show Recovery Phrase and Show Private Key.
- Reset the Phantom app. Go to Settings → Security & Privacy → Reset App.
- Restore your wallet using only a recovery phrase you created yourself, or private keys that only you control.
