If you're trying to swap a token but seeing errors like "No quotes available" or high price impact warnings, the token likely has low liquidity. These tips may help.
For background on why this happens, see Why a token can't be sold or doesn't show a price.
Check the liquidity
Before attempting a swap, verify the token has an active trading pool:
- Solana: Check Solscan, or use a DEX like Jupiter, Raydium, or Orca.
- Ethereum/EVM: Check Etherscan or a DEX like Uniswap.
Look for pool size, recent trades, and trading volume. If the pool is empty or inactive, the swap won't work anywhere.
Reduce your trade size
Smaller trades are more likely to succeed. Large swaps can exceed available liquidity or trigger extreme price impact.
Try swapping a fraction of your holdings instead of the full amount.
Try another platform
Different DEXs may route trades differently or have access to different pools:
A swap that fails in Phantom may succeed on another platform—or confirm that liquidity doesn't exist anywhere.
Wait and retry
Liquidity can change. If a token is new or temporarily inactive, more liquidity may be added over time. Monitor the token and try again later.
When recovery isn't possible
If a token has no liquidity after checking multiple platforms, it may be untradeable. In some cases:
- The token was a scam from the start
- The project was abandoned
- Liquidity was removed
Unfortunately, if no liquidity exists anywhere, the tokens can't be converted and funds may be unrecoverable.
