Claim a username in Phantom

  • Updated

You can claim a Phantom username while setting up your wallet or later in Settings

Key things to know:

  • Usernames are not case-sensitive (so if @name is taken, @NAME is also taken).
  • Usernames can only contain letters and numbers, and cannot contain special characters.
  • Usernames can be changed once every 14 days.
  • Usernames are not available for Ledger wallets.

Claim during wallet setup

When you create a new Phantom wallet, you’re prompted to create a username during onboarding.

  1. On the Create Username screen, enter the username you want.
  2. Check whether it’s available.
  3. Select Continue.

Claim from settings

If you skipped username creation during setup, you can claim one later in Settings.

  1. Select your profile avatar in the upper left.
  2. Go to Settings and select Create your @username at the top.
  3. Enter the username you want.
  4. Select Continue.

Username guidelines

To help keep the community safe, a username may be revoked in the following cases:

  • If a username impersonates public figures or organizations.
  • If a username infringes on trademarks or intellectual property.
  • If a username is created for squatting or resale.
  • If a username contains inappropriate or profane language.
  • If a username is used for phishing or scams.
