An unfamiliar token or collectible appeared in Phantom

  • Updated

Tip: Phantom has a new look on mobile. For an overview of changes, see What's new in Phantom.

If an unfamiliar token or collectible appears in Phantom, it is usually spam. Most unsolicited airdrops are scams designed to lure you into visiting a website or approving a malicious transaction. For example, anyone can send you tokens or NFTs and frame those as gifts—stay sway and do not interact with assets you do not expect.

Receiving an unexpected token or collectible does not usually mean your wallet is compromised. In most cases, the item has no real value, and nothing was taken from your wallet just because it appeared.

Warning: Never click links or open websites mentioned in airdropped collectibles or unfamiliar tokens. These sites often ask you to connect your wallet or approve a transaction, which can let scammers steal funds.

Report a token or NFT as spam

The safest action is to report the token or collectible as spam.

  1. In Phantom, open the token or collectible.
  2. Select MoreReport as Spam.

Phantom hides the item and uses your report to improve future spam detection.
