Phantom uses Phantom Auth to sync your wallets and settings across devices, but how syncing works depends on how your wallet was created.
Seed phrase wallets
If you created or restored your wallet using a seed phrase, also known as a secret recovery phrase:
- All wallets derived from a single seed phrase are accessible on any device where you restore using that same seed phrase. Custom names, icons, and linked wallet settings (such as those in your profile’s Linked Wallets section) can sync across devices. Linked wallets are located in Settings > your profile at the top > Linked Wallets.
- Phantom uses an Authentication Public Key derived from your seed phrase to securely sync this data.
Seedless and social login wallets
If you use a seedless wallet or log in with Google or Apple:
- Your wallet data is synced across devices using your login credentials and PIN.
- This includes both wallet addresses and customization details.
Wallets imported using private keys
Wallets imported using a private key:
- Do not sync automatically.
- Phantom syncs only metadata like the account’s name, icon, and address.
- Your private key stays on the device you imported it to. If you want to use that wallet on another device, you’ll need to import the private key again.
