How wallets sync across devices in Phantom

  • Updated

Phantom uses Phantom Auth to sync your wallets (accounts and settings) across devices. However, the way syncing works depends on how your wallet was created.

Recovery phrase wallets

If you created your wallet with a recovery phrase (seed phrase), you can access the same derived accounts on any device where you import that recovery phrase.

Phantom can also sync wallet personalization across those devices, like:

  • Account names
  • Icons
  • Linked wallets

Seedless wallets

If you created your wallet using a Google or Apple email and a 4-digit PIN, your wallet data syncs automatically across devices using your email and the PIN.

Phantom can also sync wallet personalization across those devices, like:

  • Account names
  • Icons
  • Linked wallets

Private key accounts

Wallets imported using a private key don't sync automatically. Phantom only syncs metadata like the account’s name, icon, and address. Your private key stays only on the device it was imported to. To access that wallet on another device, you’ll need to import that private key there.
