Some tokens in your Phantom portfolio may show a dash (–) instead of a price, and you may not be able to sell them. This doesn't necessarily mean the token is unsafe—it means Phantom can't retrieve pricing data or find a swap route.
Sometimes these tokens display messages like:
- "Price history unavailable for this token"
- "Quote unavailable"
- "No quotes available to swap"
- "We are having trouble updating your token prices"
Why does this happen?
The token doesn't meet market requirements
Phantom shows prices for tokens listed on supported sources (like CoinGecko or Birdeye) that meet minimum thresholds for trading volume, total value locked (TVL), or market cap. Tokens that don't qualify won't display a price, even if they're legitimate.
There's no liquidity or market activity
A token can exist but have no active trading pool. Without buyers and sellers, Phantom can't generate a quote or display a price. If trading activity stops, pricing data may disappear.
The token may be a scam
Some tokens are airdropped without permission and mimic legitimate assets. These often aren't listed anywhere, can't actually be sold, and have no real liquidity. Some are designed to block swaps entirely. Phantom hides their price to protect you.
Treat airdropped tokens with caution, even if they show a price:
- Don't interact with links, websites, or "claim" instructions tied to the token.
- Don't assume the displayed value is real—prices can be spoofed.
- Report it: token page → More → Report As Spam.
