At Phantom, your privacy and security are our top priorities. That’s why no one at Phantom has access to your password or Secret Recovery Phrase. When setting up your wallet, it’s critical to back up your Secret Recovery Phrase and store it securely, as this is the only way to recover your wallet if you forget your password.
If you’ve forgotten your Phantom password, you can reset it by re-importing your Secret Recovery Phrase. This process will restore access to your wallets once the phrase is successfully imported. Here’s how:
For Browser Extension Users:
- Click the “Forgot Password” link located below the password field.
- Select “Reset Secret Phrase” to begin the recovery process.
Important: If you have forgotten both your password and your Secret Recovery Phrase, the Phantom team cannot assist in recovering your wallet, and your funds will be permanently inaccessible. Always back up your recovery phrase in a secure location.
For Mobile App Users:
Phantom mobile uses device-based authentication (TouchID, FaceID etc). If you’ve lost access, you will need to reinstall the app to reset your authentication.
Steps to recover your wallet:
- Uninstall the Phantom app from your device.
- Reinstall the app from your device’s app store.
- Choose “I already have a wallet” during setup.
- Use your Secret Recovery Phrase to restore your wallet.
- Set up your new PIN or device authentication.
Recovering a wallet using Email and Pin
If you created your wallet using the seedless login feature, you can regain access by simply using your registered email and 4 digit pin. Even if you no longer have the Phantom app installed, as long as you can access your email and remember your Pin, you'll be able to restore your wallet.
Remember to always securely store your recovery phrase—it’s the key to accessing your wallet and funds!
