Get started with Cash

Cash is a set of financial tools built into Phantom. Hold, send, receive, and spend money in one place, your Cash account, powered by crypto and built for everyday use.

Access your Cash account

If you have a Phantom username, you have a Cash account. Find it on the Home tab, under Cash.

If your wallet is empty, the Cash section does not appear on Home. But your Cash account can be seen when open the Trade tab, as the default destination account for a swap.

Verify your identity (US only)

Identity verification (KYC) is required for bank deposits, bank withdrawals, direct deposit, and the Phantom debit card. Available in the US only, except NY.

  1. On the Home tab, tap Cash. If the Cash section is not available on Home, tap the + button, then tap Add Cash.
  2. Next to Verify Your Account, tap Start.
  3. Enter your US phone number and verify it.
  4. Provide your full name and US address.
  5. Provide your date of birth and Social Security number.
  6. Submit a government-issued ID and complete a face scan.

You'll receive a notification when verification is complete.

Once verified, you can activate your Phantom debit card to spend your balance anywhere Visa is accepted. See Use your Phantom debit card.

Common issues

My identity verification is pending

Verification usually takes a few minutes. In some cases it may take longer while additional checks are completed. You'll receive a follow-up email once it's done. No action needed in the meantime.

I want to change the phone number used for verification

Delete your existing Link account and restart verification with the correct number.

  1. Open app.link.com/settings.
  2. Enter the email address you used for verification in Cash.
  3. Delete your Link account.
  4. Restart identity verification in Phantom and enter the correct number.

I want to delete my identity documents

  1. Open Delete information saved with Link.
  2. Click the link in the Delete identity documents section.
  3. Enter the email address you used for verification in Cash.
  4. Link will send you an email.
  5. Click the link in the email to confirm deletion.
  1. Open app.link.com/settings.
  2. Enter the email address you used for verification in Cash.
  3. Follow the prompts.

I can't complete identity verification

Common causes include:

  • Blurry, dark, or cropped images
  • Expired or unsupported ID documents
  • File format issues
  • Camera and microphone permission issues
  • Mismatched personal information

I failed verification multiple times and can't retry

If you can no longer retry, you won't be able to access Cash offchain features. Contact Link support at support.link.com.
