How to fund your Cash account

  • Updated

You can add funds to your Cash account in a few ways:

  • Swap Solana-based tokens into Cash (Quick Sell Crypto)
  • Receive peer-to-peer (P2P) transfers from other Phantom users
  • Add cash with a linked US bank account, debit card, or Apple Pay (US only, requires KYC)
  • Deposit by ACH or domestic wire using your Cash account routing and account numbers (US only, requires KYC)

Fund by swapping tokens in your wallet

You can instantly add funds to your Cash account by swapping tokens on Solana that you already hold. Tokens on other networks, such as Ethereum or Polygon, can’t be swapped into your Cash account directly. You’ll need to bridge them to Solana first, then complete the swap.

Use Quick Sell Crypto (recommended)

  1. Go to the Cash tab and tap Add Cash.
  2. Tap Quick Sell Crypto, then choose one of the following:
    • To swap your full balance, tap Max, review the details, then tap Confirm quick sell.
    • To swap part of your balance, tap the amount field next to Max, enter an amount, review, then tap Sell now.

A token needs to be worth at least $1 to appear in the list

Swap from a token page

You can also swap into Cash from a token in your portfolio:

  1. Choose a Solana-based token (for example, SOL), then tap Sell.
  2. Confirm the Receive option is set to Cash.
  3. Enter the amount (minimum swap is $1).
  4. Tap Sell now to confirm.

Your Cash account balance updates as soon as the swap is confirmed on Solana.

Add cash using a bank account, debit card, or Apple Pay

You can deposit funds into your Cash account using a linked US bank account, debit card, or Apple Pay.

These are off-chain funding methods that are rolling out gradually. They require identity verification (KYC) and may not be available to all users yet. Payments are processed by Stripe.

Some payment methods may be unavailable depending on your region, waitlist status, bank, card type, or location.

Important: When funding with a debit card or Apple Pay, you must be physically located in the United States. Funding attempts made from outside the US may fail. Once you’re back in the US, funding should work normally.

  1. Go to the Cash tab and tap Add Cash.
  2. Tap Bank, Card, or Apple Pay.
  3. Enter an amount.
  4. Choose a payment method:
    • Debit Card:
      • First time: follow the prompts to link your card to Stripe.
      • Next time: select your linked card.
    • Bank Account:
      • First time: follow the prompts to link your account to Stripe.
      • Next time: select your linked bank account.
    • Apple Pay: Select a saved card or add a new one.
  5. Confirm the payment.
  6. On the Review screen, review the details, then tap Confirm.

Your funds appear in your Cash account after the deposit is processed. This usually takes 2 to 3 minutes.

Payment method availability

Not all banks or cards support funding Phantom Cash:

  • US checking accounts usually work best. Some savings accounts may not be supported.
  • Debit cards generally have higher success rates than credit cards.
  • Credit cards are often declined by issuers and may not work. Fees may apply if supported.
  • Some banks or card issuers may block the transaction even if the account links successfully.

If a funding attempt fails, try a different payment method or use Quick Sell Crypto instead.

Fund by making an ACH or wire transfer to your Cash account

You can set up an ACH deposit or domestic wire using your Cash account routing and account numbers. Deposits are processed by Bridge and require identity verification (KYC).

Important: When funding with a bank transfer (Instant ACH), your physical location must match the state of residence you provided during identity verification. Funding attempts made from another state or outside the US may fail. Once you’re back in your verified state, funding should work normally.

  1. Go to the Cash tab and tap Add Cash.
  2. Tap Direct Deposit.
  3. Copy your routing and account numbers.
  4. In your payroll portal or bank app, set up an ACH deposit or domestic wire.
  5. Send the deposit.

Your funds appear in your Cash account after the deposit is processed:

  • ACH: Arrives the next business day. If submitted after 1 pm ET, on a weekend, or on a US holiday, processing starts the next business day.
  • Domestic wire: Arrives the same day during banking hours. If submitted after the sender’s wire cutoff, on a weekend, or on a US holiday, processing starts the next business day.
