Add Cash to Phantom

  • Updated

Add Cash lets you fund your Cash account with US dollars using a debit card, Apple Pay, or a bank. From there, you can swap into other tokens. Add Cash is available in the US, excluding New York. If you're in New York or outside the US, you'll see Buy instead. See Buy tokens in Phantom.

Open Add Cash

In the Phantom mobile app, on the Home tab, tap Cash to open your Cash account. The funding options below appear under Add Cash.

If your wallet is empty and you don't see Cash yet, tap Add FundsAdd Cash, or tap the + button → Add Cash. The first time you add cash, this opens identity verification (KYC). See Get started with Cash.

Fund via card, Apple Pay, or bank

  1. Under Add Cash, tap Card, Apple Pay, Bank.
  2. Enter the amount and choose your payment method. US checking accounts and debit cards have the highest success rates. Not all card networks are supported. See Supported cards for more information.
  3. Review and confirm.

Fund via bank transfer

Send a wire or bank transfer to your Cash account for free, converted into CASH at a 1:1 rate.

  1. Under Add Cash, tap Transfer From Bank.
  2. Copy your virtual account's routing number and account number.
  3. Add your virtual account in your bank's app or website.
  4. Send the deposit.

Fund by swapping tokens

You can turn Solana tokens you already hold into Cash.

  1. Under Add Cash, tap Sell Crypto. Phantom shows the tokens in your selected account that are eligible for swapping.
  2. Choose a token and tap Max to sell all, or enter the amount (minimum $1).
  3. Review and confirm.

Important: Tokens on other networks such as Ethereum or Polygon cannot be used to fund your Cash account directly. Swap them to a token on Solana first.

You can also swap Solana tokens to Cash from the swapper. See Swap tokens in Phantom.

Remove a linked payment method

  1. Under Add Cash, tap Card, Apple Pay, Bank.
  2. Tap and hold the payment method you want to remove.
  3. Tap Remove Payment Method.

Funding limits

Deposits made with Card, Apple Pay, Bank use a rolling seven-day trailing window, not a daily reset. Your available limit doesn't automatically refresh 24 hours after a deposit.

  • If your limit is $500 and you deposit $500 on day one, your full limit becomes available again on day seven.
  • If you deposit $100 each day for 5 days, your available limit gradually increases over the following days.

If you need to deposit a larger amount right away, use Transfer From Bank instead.

Supported cards

Not all card networks are supported.

Network Support
Visa Supported. Tends to have the highest success rates.
Mastercard Accepted, but your bank may decline the transaction. If declined, try a Visa card or another payment method.
American Express Accepted, but transactions are more likely to be declined by your bank. If declined, try a Visa card or another payment method.
Discover Not supported. Try a Visa, Mastercard, or American Express card instead.

Common issues

If you're having trouble adding Cash, this section may help. Deposits can fail or take longer than expected because of a declined payment method, a funding limit, a location requirement, or a missing verification step.

Deposit errors and delays

Your deposit is still pending

Deposits through Stripe typically complete within two to three minutes. If yours is still pending, it may still be processing.

If your deposit has been pending for more than 48 hours, excluding weekends and bank holidays, contact Phantom Support.

Your same-day deposit shows as next-day

A next-day date can appear because of normal processing timelines. Your funds are likely still on their way.

If the funds don't arrive within 48 hours, excluding weekends and bank holidays, contact Phantom Support.

Your payment method was declined

Your card or bank may decline the payment because of insufficient funds, crypto-related transaction restrictions, or other blocks. Not all cards are supported when adding funds through Stripe.

Try a different card or payment method. For more information, see Supported cards.

Your bank is blocking the deposit

Some banks block crypto-related transactions regardless of the card used. If deposits keep failing across multiple cards, try a different bank account or use Direct Deposit, if available.

You've reached your deposit limit

Stripe deposits are subject to a rolling limit based on a seven-day trailing window. Your limit doesn't reset daily. It may not refresh exactly 24 hours after a deposit.

If you've reached your limit, use Direct Deposit, if available, or wait until more of your rolling limit opens up. For more information, see Funding limits.

You're not in the required location

Some Cash funding options require you to be in a specific location:

  • Card, Apple Pay, Bank: You need to be physically located in the US.
  • Transfer From Bank: You need to be physically located in your verified state.

Make sure you're in the right location before trying again. You can also use Sell Crypto to fund your Cash account, if available.

"No tokens to sell"

This message means you don't have enough tokens on Solana in your wallet. Add at least $1 of a Solana token, such as SOL or USDC, by purchasing or receiving it. See Receive tokens in Phantom for more information.
