How to fix a missing profile after restoring your wallet

  • Updated

This article explains what to do if you restored your wallet and your profile does not appear, even though you previously claimed a username. When you open Settings, the profile section at the top is missing and you only see your account name.

Cause

Your profile is linked to the wallet you were using when you claimed your username. When you restore multiple wallets in Phantom (for example, multiple recovery phrases, or signing in with Apple or Google first and then importing other recovery phrases), Phantom shows the profile for the first wallet you import.

If you restore a wallet that does not have a username, or if you restore wallets in a different order than before, Phantom may not show your original profile.

In the normal flow, if you restore a wallet without a username first, you will see a "Create your @username" banner on top of the Settings page.

What you can do

  1. Reinstall Phantom.
  2. Restore your wallet again. If you have multiple wallets:
    • Restore the wallet that contains your profile first.
    • Then import any additional wallets.
  3. If your profile still doesn't appear, contact Phantom Support.
