Tip: Phantom has a new look on mobile. For an overview of changes, see What's new in Phantom.
If a new account appears in Phantom after you connect to Phantom Terminal (trade.phantom.com), it likely means you selected Continue with Phantom → Trading Account that the terminal used to have. This was expected behavior.
Why does this account appear?
If you used a wallet using a Secret Recovery Phrase and connected to Phantom Terminal using the Continue with Phantom → Trading Account, then Phantom created a separate trading account from your recovery phrase.
How can I identify this trading account?
The trading account appears in your account switcher like your other accounts. In the following screenshot, the trading account is named Account 2.
On mobile, you may briefly see the label Last used with Phantom.com next to the trading account after it is created.
You can identify the trading account in your app logs. Go to Settings → Security & Privacy → Download App Logs. In the logs, the trading account appears as a kmsVault account type.
{
name: "Account 2",
identifier: "kms:<unique-identifier>:vault",
addresses: [
...
],
type: "kmsVault",
...
}How is the trading account different?
The trading account has its own recovery phrase, which is 24-word long. You can export it in Settings → Manage Accounts, select the trading account, then select Show Recovery Phrase.
Warning: Never share your Secret Recovery Phrase or private key with anyone. Anyone with access to either has full control of your wallet. Phantom Support will never ask for your recovery phrase or private key.
