Magic Eden and Phantom use different methods to generate wallet addresses from a Secret Recovery Phrase. This means importing your Magic Eden recovery phrase into Phantom won't show your existing balances—it will create completely different addresses. Instead you will need to create a new a wallet in Phantom and transfer your assets.
You can create a new Phantom wallet in two ways. Both are self-custodial, which means only you control your wallet and assets.
Warning: Never share your Secret Recovery Phrase with anyone, including Phantom support. Store it in a secure, offline location.
Phantom never holds your private key and does not control your assets.
Step 1: Choose how you want to create your wallet
If you already have an existing wallet in the Phantom app, you can skip this step and move to Step 2: Copy your Phantom wallet address.
Create a wallet with a recovery phrase

- Select Create a New Wallet → Create Recovery Phrase Wallet.
- View your Secret Recovery Phrase, then write it down and store it securely offline.

Create a wallet with Google or Apple

- Download Phantom from phantom.com/download.
- Select Create a New Wallet → Continue with Email → Continue with Apple or Continue with Google.
- Set a four-digit PIN.
- After setup, go to Settings → Security & Privacy → Show Recovery Phrase, then store it securely offline.

- Bitcoin: for BTC.
- Copy the address. You'll paste this into Magic Eden in the next step.
Step 3: Send assets from Magic Eden to Phantom

- Select the token or NFT you want to send.
- Tap Send and paste your Phantom wallet address.
- Double-check that the address and network match—sending to the wrong network or address can result in lost funds.

- Repeat for each asset you want to move.
Step 4: Verify your assets in Phantom
- Open Phantom and check your balances.
- Transactions may take a few seconds (Solana) to several minutes (Bitcoin) to confirm.

Tips
- Send a small test transaction first before moving large amounts.
- Make sure you have enough for fees. Keep a small amount of SOL, ETH, or BTC in your Magic Eden wallet to cover network (gas) fees for each send.
- Move assets one network at a time. Don't mix up Solana and Ethereum addresses.
- Never share your recovery phrase from either wallet with anyone.
FAQ
Why don't my Magic Eden balances show up when I import my recovery phrase into Phantom?
Magic Eden and Phantom derive wallet addresses differently. The same recovery phrase produces different addresses in each app, so your funds won't appear. You need to send them manually.
Will I lose my assets?
No. Your assets stay on the blockchain. They'll remain accessible in your Magic Eden wallet until you send them to Phantom.
