Chainabuse is a public blockchain threat reporting platform used by investigators, exchanges, and security researchers.
Submit a report at chainabuse.com to create a public record tied to the scammer's wallet address that others can find and add to.
This is one of the most effective things you can do independently to warn others and support investigations.
Report to law enforcement
Depending on where you are and the size of the loss, law enforcement may be able to help. In some cases, especially where large sums are involved, agencies have successfully worked with exchanges to freeze or recover stolen crypto.
- File a police report: Contact your local law enforcement and file a formal report. Get a case number, as you may need it if you pursue further action.
- Report to the FBI (US only): Submit a report to the Internet Crime Complaint Center at ic3.gov. The IC3 works with financial institutions and exchanges and has assisted in freezing stolen crypto in past cases.
