Report a scam

  • Updated

Reporting scams helps protect the Phantom community. While Phantom can't recover stolen funds (the wallet is non-custodial), reports help us identify threats and may help law enforcement freeze assets.

Report to Phantom

To report a scam, select the Chat button in the lower-right corner of this page. The bot may ask questions about your own experience—if you're reporting on behalf of the community rather than seeking help for yourself, let the bot know you want to report a scam.

Helpful information to include:

  • Screenshots of scam messages or links
  • Scammer's wallet address or username
  • Transaction IDs
  • Brief description of what happened

Report to Chainabuse

Submit a public report at chainabuse.com to help warn others and track scam wallets.

If you lost funds

If you were scammed, you may also want to take the following steps:

  • File a police report: Contact your local law enforcement.
  • Report to the FBI (US only): Submit a report to the Internet Crime Complaint Center at ic3.gov. The IC3 has helped freeze or recover stolen crypto in some cases.
  • Check for tax deductions: Consult your local tax authority about potential deductions for scam-related losses.
