How to send crypto from Phantom

  • Updated

You can send tokens from Phantom to centralized exchanges (like Binance, Coinbase, or Bybit) or to other wallets (such as a hardware wallet, mobile wallet, or web3 address). Phantom supports assets on Solana, Ethereum, Monad (testnet), Base, Sui, Polygon, and Bitcoin.

This guide walks you through the steps, how to avoid common mistakes, and how to track your transaction.

Best practices

To help your transfer go smoothly and avoid issues:

  • Confirm that the token and network are supported by the exchange or wallet you’re sending to.
  • Double-check the deposit instructions, including any required memo or tag. Phantom only supports memos or tags for certain tokens. If you don’t see a memo field when sending, the token doesn’t support it.
  • Send a small test amount first before transferring a larger balance. This helps confirm the setup is correct.

Send crypto from Phantom

Step 1: Get the receiving address

If you’re sending to an exchange, go to the crypto deposit section and choose the token and network. You’ll be shown a deposit address, and in some cases, a memo or tag. Copy the address carefully.

You can send tokens to:

  • A wallet address
  • A Phantom username (like @phantom)
  • A domain name (like solana.sol or vault.eth)

Phantom supports usernames and domain names that resolve automatically to valid wallet addresses on supported networks.

Important: Never type the address by hand—always copy and paste. If you use the wrong address, token, or network, your funds could be lost permanently.

Step 2: Send the token

  1. Open Phantom and search for the token to send. Native tokens like SOL, ETH, BTC, POL, MON, and SUI don’t show pinned network icons. Non-native tokens will.
  2. Select Send.
  3. Paste the receiving address you copied earlier.
  4. Enter the amount you want to send.
  5. If you see a Memo field, fill it in using the instructions provided by the exchange. Phantom only shows this field for tokens that support memos.
  6. Select Next and review the details.
  7. Check the network fee. You'll need enough of the native token on that network to cover the fee:
    • Solana: ~0.002 SOL
    • Ethereum: ~0.002 ETH
    • Base: ~0.002 ETH (on Base)
    • Polygon: ~0.5 POL
    • Sui: ~0.01 SUI
    • Monad (testnet): ~0.002 MON
  8. Select Send.

Your transaction is now submitted.

Step 3: Track the transaction

  1. Go to the Recent Activity tab in Phantom.
  2. Select your transaction to view its status.
  3. Use the link to open it in the relevant blockchain explorer, such as Solscan, Etherscan, and others.
