Create a new wallet in Phantom

You can create a new wallet in Phantom in two ways:

• Google or Apple account: You sign in with your Google or Apple account and set a four-digit PIN. You need both your account and PIN to restore your wallet. This wallet also has a Secret Recovery Phrase, which you can export and store offline as an additional backup.
• Secret Recovery Phrase: You receive a 12-word Secret Recovery Phrase that gives you full control of your wallet. Write it down and store it securely offline. You need the recovery phrase to restore your wallet.

Both are self-custodial, which means only you control your wallet and assets. Phantom never holds your recovery phrases, private keys, and does not control your assets. We will not be able to help you if your credentials are lost.

Create a new wallet with a Google or Apple account

1. Download Phantom for free on iOS, Android, or as a browser extension at phantom.com/download.
2. Select Create a New Wallet → Continue with Email → Continue with Apple or Continue with Google.
3. Follow the prompts to claim your unique username and finish setting up your wallet.

Create a new wallet with a Secret Recovery Phrase

1. Download Phantom for free on iOS, Android, or as a browser extension at phantom.com/download.
2. Select Create a New Wallet → Create a Recovery Phrase Wallet.
3. View your Secret Recovery Phrase, then write it down and store it securely offline.
4. Follow the prompts to claim your unique username and finish setting up your wallet.
