Create a new Phantom wallet with a Google or Apple account

You can create a new Phantom wallet by signing in with your Google or Apple account. Then access this wallet on any device where you use Phantom by signing in with the same account.

What you need #

  • The Phantom app: download it for free on iOS, Android, or as a browser extension at phantom.com/download.
  • A Google or Apple account with a strong password and two-factor authentication enabled, as an additional layer of security for your wallet.

Mobile app #

  1. Open the Phantom mobile app.
  2. On the welcome screen, tap Continue with Apple or Continue with Google and follow the prompts to sign in.
  3. Create your Phantom username. Optionally, you can import it from X by connecting your X account to Phantom.
  4. Tap Continue.
  5. Optionally, enter a Phantom referral code.
  6. Optionally, choose top traders to follow.
  7. Optionally, turn on device authentication, such as Face ID or fingerprint. This unlocks Phantom on your current device only and does not replace your Google or Apple account sign-in.

Warning: Never share your Secret Recovery Phrase, PIN, or private key with anyone. Anyone with access to your credentials has full control of your wallet. Phantom Support will never ask for your recovery phrase or private key.

Browser extension #

  1. Click the Phantom browser extension icon.
  2. In a new tab that opens, click Create a New Wallet > Continue with Email.
  3. Click Apple or Google and follow the prompts to sign in.
  4. Create a secure password. This password unlocks Phantom only in your current browser and does not replace your Google or Apple account sign-in. Your password must be at least eight characters long and must contain at least one special character, one capital letter, and one number.
  5. Create your Phantom username.
  6. Click Continue, then Get Started.

FAQ #

What is the PIN used for? #

The four-digit PIN, if you were asked to set one when creating your wallet, is used together with your Google or Apple account to restore the wallet every time you sign in again.

What happens if I enter the wrong PIN too many times? #

After seven incorrect attempts, the encrypted backup on the device is deleted. You can recover your wallet only if you still have another signed-in device or you previously exported your Secret Recovery Phrase.

Can I check which devices are still logged in to my wallet? #

No. Phantom does not track or display active sessions across devices.

Can I reset or change my PIN? #

Yes. On a device where you are logged in, go to Settings > Security & Privacy > Reset PIN. If you don't see this option, your wallet doesn't use a PIN.

Can I use Outlook email or other providers to log in to Phantom? #

You can use any email address as long as it is linked to the Google or Apple account you use to sign in.

Can I change the email I used to create my wallet? #

No. You cannot change the Google or Apple account used to create your wallet.

Can I create multiple wallets with the same email? #

You can have only one active wallet for each Google or Apple account.

Can I link my email to an existing wallet? #

No. You cannot link a Google or Apple account to an existing wallet.

Does my wallet have a recovery phrase? #

Yes. For instructions on how to view and export it, see View your recovery phrase or private keys in Phantom.
