Add money to Phantom
When you add money to Phantom using fiat payment methods, funds go to your Cash account. You can use a debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, a bank account, or a bank transfer, depending on your region and the provider you use. Once your purchase is complete and Cash account is funded, you can then use your Cash balance to fund all your trades across Phantom: swap tokens, trade perps, predictions, and more.
One exception is direct swaps from your Cash account into native BTC, which is currently not supported.
Debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or bank (United States) #
Add money to your Cash account using Apple Pay, Google Pay, a debit card, or a linked US bank account. These deposits are processed by Stripe.
- Tap the + button, then tap Add Cash. You can also go to Cash and choose Card, Apple Pay, Bank or Card, Google Pay, Bank.
- Enter the amount and choose your payment method. US checking accounts and Visa debit cards tend to have the highest success rates.
- Review and confirm.
If you are funding Cash for the first time, you'll be asked to complete a one-time identity verification (KYC). For more details, see Verify your identity for Cash (United States).
Supported cards #
Some cards and card networks are not supported. Visa cards tend to work best.
| Card | Support |
|---|---|
| Visa | Supported. Tends to have the highest success rates. |
| Mastercard | Accepted, but your bank may decline the transaction. |
| American Express | Accepted, but transactions are more likely to be declined by your bank. |
| Discover | Not supported. |
| Apple Cash Debit Card | Not supported. |
Funding limits for Stripe deposits #
Stripe deposit limits are dynamic and may vary based on your payment method, verification level, account history, location, and Stripe's risk assessment. The most accurate limit is the one shown in Phantom when you make a deposit.
Some limits use a rolling 7-day window. This is not a weekly reset. Each deposit counts toward the limit for 7 days. After 7 days, that deposit amount drops off and becomes available again.
If your available limit shows as $0, you may have reached a rolling limit or that payment method may not currently be available for additional deposits. Check the limit shown in Phantom or try another supported payment method.
Stripe and Phantom Support can't manually increase your deposit limit.
Remove a linked payment method #
To remove a payment method, go to Cash and open your linked payment methods.
- On the Home tab, tap Cash.
- Under Pay With, tap Debit Card or Bank Account.
- Select the payment method you want to remove.
- Tap the three dots next to it and select Remove card or Remove linked account.
Troubleshoot a Stripe deposit #
My Stripe deposit is still pending #
Deposits made with a debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay via Stripe can complete within 10 minutes. Deposits with a linked bank account (ACH) can take from 3 to 5 business days, and they don't process on weekends and US federal holidays.
For timing details, see Why is my Cash deposit still pending?
"You've reached your limit!" when trying to add funds via Stripe #
If you see "You've reached your limit!", check the deposit limit shown in Phantom. Your limit is dynamic and can vary by payment method.
You can try a smaller amount or another supported payment method. Changing payment methods doesn't guarantee a higher limit.
Payment method was declined #
- Your card or bank may decline the payment because of crypto-related transaction restrictions.
- Not all cards are supported. Try a different card or payment method. See Supported cards for more details
Can't deposit outside of the United States #
Deposits made with Stripe require you to be physically located in the United States. If you're outside the country, try a different provider if available in your region.
Direct deposit or domestic wire (United States) #
Add money to your Cash account using its routing and account numbers. ACH transfers and domestic wires from US banks are supported. These transfers are processed by Bridge.
- On the Home tab, tap Cash.
- Under Add Cash, tap Transfer From Bank.
- Under Deposit Details, copy your routing number and account number.
- Add your virtual account in your bank's app or website.
- Send the deposit.
If you are funding Cash for the first time, you'll be asked to complete a one-time identity verification (KYC). For more details, see Verify your identity for Cash (United States).

Troubleshoot a provider purchase #
What Phantom can and cannot help with #
Third-party providers handle these purchases. Phantom cannot speed up or cancel them, issue refunds, access your provider account, or resolve provider-side identity verification issues.
Funds haven't arrived #
If the funds haven't arrived, identify the provider that handled your purchase by checking your receipt or bank or card statement, then contact that provider directly.
No providers are showing up #
In some regions, no providers are available yet. You can still fund Phantom by buying crypto on an exchange and sending it to Phantom, or by receiving crypto from another wallet.
Payment method was declined #
Your bank or card issuer may block crypto purchases. Try another payment method or provider.
Identity verification isn't working #
Providers handle their own identity verification independently. If verification is failing, contact the provider directly.
Account is blocked #
If a provider blocks your account, contact the provider directly.
FAQ #
Can I buy crypto for cash directly? #
You first fund your Cash account, then swap CASH into supported tokens in Phantom. Buying SOL, ETH, or BTC directly with cash through Cash is not supported.
Which providers are available? #
For a full list of providers, regional availability, and support contacts, see Third-party onramp providers in Phantom.
How do I know which provider handled my purchase? #
The provider's name is shown during checkout and in the receipt they send after the transaction. You can also check your card or bank statement.
Why is Phantom redirecting me to Meld? #
Meld is payment infrastructure used by some providers to process purchases. If you're redirected to a Meld site during checkout, that can be expected.
If you need help with the transaction, contact the provider you selected at the start of checkout.
