Send tokens from Phantom
You can send tokens from Phantom to another wallet, one of your own accounts, a Phantom user, or an exchange.
Before you send #
- Check the recipient’s network. The recipient must support the token on the same network you’re sending from. For example, USDC on Ethereum must be sent to a recipient that supports USDC on Ethereum.
- Confirm the token’s network. For non-native tokens, check the network badge on the token icon.
- Keep enough crypto for network fees. You’ll need the network’s native token, such as SOL on Solana or ETH on Ethereum. See Understand network fees.
- Review any address warnings. Phantom may warn you when sending to a new address. Continue only if you’re sure the address is correct.
Mobile app #
- On the Home tab, tap Send.
- Select the token you want to send. Use search or the network filters to find it, and check the network shown next to the token.
- Choose the recipient. Paste an address in the @username or wallet field, tap the QR code icon to scan an address, or select someone from recently used addresses, your saved contacts, or your own accounts in Phantom.
- Enter the amount.
- Review the recipient, payment token, network fees, and amount.
- Confirm the transaction.
Browser extension #
- On the Home tab, click Send.
- Select the token you want to send.
- Choose the recipient. Paste a wallet address, or click @ in the address field to select someone from recently used addresses, your saved contacts, or your own accounts in Phantom.
- Enter the amount.
- Review the recipient, payment token, network fees, and amount.
- Confirm the transaction.
Once the transaction is confirmed on the network, the tokens should appear in the recipient’s wallet.
Can Phantom recover my tokens? #
No. Phantom is non-custodial and cannot reverse transactions or retrieve tokens you’ve sent.
If you sent tokens on an EVM network that Phantom doesn’t support, you may be able to access them through another wallet. See Recover tokens sent to an unsupported network.
Troubleshoot sending tokens #
"Invalid format" error #
The address format doesn’t match the selected network. Check both the token’s network and the recipient’s address. For example, a token on Solana must be sent to a Solana address.
Not enough funds to pay network fees #
You need enough of the network’s native token to pay the fee, even when sending a different token. See Understand network fees.
Token is malicious #
Phantom blocks certain scam tokens designed to prevent sending or selling. Verified tokens display a purple checkmark.
If you encounter a suspicious token, don't interact with it at all, or report it as spam. See Report a token or collectible as spam in Phantom.
Tokens sent to the wrong address #
Sending to an incorrect or incompatible address can cause a transaction to fail or result in lost funds. Phantom cannot reverse the transaction.
To reduce address errors, copy and paste addresses instead of typing them manually, then check the recipient before confirming.
Can’t send from a watch-only address #
A watch-only address lets you view balances but cannot sign transactions. To send tokens, restore the wallet using the same method you used to create it.
Can't send Bitcoin #
If you're trying to send Bitcoin but seeing a message such as "You can only have one BTC transfer pending at a time," this means you have another pending Bitcoin transaction that needs to be completed before you can make another transfer.
To check your transaction status, go to mempool.space and enter your wallet address or transaction ID.
- If the transaction is pending in both Phantom and mempool.space, wait for it to confirm.
- If the transaction is confirmed on mempool.space but still shows as pending in Phantom, reset the Phantom app and then sign back in to the same wallet. For detailed steps, see Reset the Phantom app.
