Tip: Phantom has a new look on mobile. For an overview of changes, see What's new in Phantom.
Just downloaded Phantom and want to import an existing wallet? Import it by signing in with your Google or Apple account, using a Secret Recovery Phrase, private key, or connecting a hardware wallet.
Wallets created with a Google or Apple account
If your wallet was created with a Google or Apple account, then to import it, you need to sign in with the same account and your four-digit PIN.
Browser extension
- Open the Phantom browser extension.
- Click I Already Have a Wallet → Connect Email Wallet.
- Click Apple or Google and sign in.
- If prompted, enter your four-digit PIN.
- Create a password to unlock Phantom on this device.
- Click Get Started.
Mobile app
- Open the Phantom mobile app.
- Tap I Already Have a Wallet → Continue with Email.
- Tap Continue with Apple or Continue with Google and sign in.
- If prompted, enter your four-digit PIN.
- Turn on device authentication such as Face ID, fingerprint, or passcode.
- Tap Continue.
Regardless of how many accounts your wallet had before ("Account 1," "Account 2," and so on), when you sign in, Phantom restores only your first account automatically.
You need to add other accounts (that had onchain activity) manually. To do that, see
Wallets created with a Secret Recovery Phrase
If your wallet was created using a Secret Recovery Phrase, then to access it, you need to import the same recovery phrase.
Browser extension
- Open the Phantom browser extension.
- Click I Already Have a Wallet → Import Recovery Phrase.
- Enter your recovery phrase in the correct order.
- Click Import Wallet.
- Create a password to unlock Phantom on this device.
- Click Get Started.
Mobile app
- Open the Phantom mobile app.
- Tap I Already Have a Wallet → Other Import Options → Import Recovery Phrase.
- Enter your recovery phrase in the correct order.
- Tap Import Recovery Phrase.
- Turn on device authentication such as Face ID, fingerprint, or passcode.
- Tap Continue.
Phantom automatically restores all accounts from this wallet that had any activity before.

Mobile app
Follow the steps in Use a Ledger wallet with the Phantom mobile app.
Imported private keys
A private key gives you access to one address on one network. Importing one adds that address to Phantom as a standalone account, separate from your main wallet. Unlike a recovery phrase or Google/Apple account, private keys don't sync across devices. You'll need to re-import the key on each device you use.
Browser extension
- Open the Phantom extension icon.
- Click I Already Have a Wallet → Import Private Key.
- Enter a name for the account.
- Select the network.
- Paste your private key.
- Click Import.
Mobile app
- Open the Phantom mobile app.
- Tap I Already Have a Wallet → Other Import Options → Import Private Key.
- Enter a name for the account.
- Select the network.
- Paste your private key.
- Tap Import.
Sync my wallet between the mobile app and browser extension
To use the same wallet, same funds, and assets on both the mobile app and browser extension, import the same credentials: for example, sign in to the same Google or Apple account, import the same Secret Recovery Phrase, private keys, or connect the same Ledger wallet.
Common issues
See Fix wallet recovery issues in Phantom for troubleshooting help.
FAQ
Where can I find my recovery phrase or private key?
For instructions, see View your recovery phrase or private keys in Phantom.
Can I import a wallet without a recovery phrase?
It depends on how a wallet was created. If it used a Secret Recovery Phrase, that phrase is necessary for import. If it used a Google or Apple account, the wallet can be restored using the same account and four-digit PIN.
Can I log in with an email and password?
No. Phantom does not support email and password login.
