If you are setting up Phantom on a new device, reinstalling the app, or bringing in a wallet from another app, this guide will walk you through your options.
Use the table below to find the right method for your wallet type.
| How the wallet was created | What you need |
|---|---|
| Email wallet (Google or Apple) | The same Google or Apple account and four-digit PIN |
| Recovery phrase wallet | Your 12-word or 24-word recovery phrase |
| Private key | The private key for the specific account you want to import |
| Ledger hardware wallet | See Use a Ledger wallet with the Phantom browser extension or Use a Ledger wallet with the Phantom mobile app |
Warning: Do not share your Secret Recovery Phrase or private key with anyone. If someone has access to either, they will have full control of your wallet. Phantom Support will never ask for your Secret Recovery Phrase or private key.
Email wallet (Google or Apple)
If you created your wallet using Google or Apple, sign in with the same account and enter your four-digit PIN.
Phantom restores only the first account automatically. If you previously created additional accounts, add them manually by going to your profile avatar in the upper right → Add Account → Create New Account → Create.

Recovery phrase
Importing a Secret Recovery Phrase restores the entire wallet and all associated accounts that have previous onchain activity across supported chains.
Phantom supports 12-word and 24-word recovery phrases. Recovery phrases created in Phantom are 12 words. If your recovery phrase has a different length, import it using a wallet app that supports that format.

Use the same wallet on mobile and desktop
You can access your wallet on both the mobile app and browser extension at the same time. Setting up Phantom on one device does not affect access on another. Simply restore your wallet on each device using the same method you used to create it.
- Recovery phrase wallet: import the same recovery phrase on each device.
- Email wallet: sign in with the same Google or Apple account and four-digit PIN on each device.
