If you need to remove wallet data from your device or fix persistent app issues, you can reset Phantom. Resetting Phantom removes all wallet data from that device and returns you to the welcome screen, where you can restore an existing wallet or create a new one.
You may need to reset Phantom if:
- You want to remove all wallet data from your device. Phantom does not have a traditional log out button.
- You're experiencing persistent errors, transaction failures across multiple sites, or unexpected behavior after a recent update.
- Apps are not connecting or responding correctly, and standard troubleshooting has not resolved the issue.
Before you reset
Resetting deletes all wallet data stored in Phantom on your device. Before you continue, make sure you can still access the credentials needed to restore your wallet.
Warning: Resetting Phantom removes wallet data from your device. If you do not have access to your Secret Recovery Phrase or your email wallet login method, you may not be able to restore your wallet afterward.
- Email wallet: Make sure you still have access to your Google or Apple account and know your 4-digit PIN.
- Recovery phrase wallet: Make sure your Secret Recovery Phrase is written down and stored in a secure, offline location. To view it in Phantom, go to Settings → Security & Privacy → Show Recovery Phrase.
Reset Phantom
Browser extension
- Click your profile avatar in the upper left.
- Go to Settings → Security & Privacy.
- Click Reset App, then click Continue.
Mobile app
- Tap your profile avatar in the upper left.
- Go to Settings → Security & Privacy.
- Tap Reset App, then tap Continue.
After resetting
Phantom will return you to the welcome screen. From there, you can choose the option that matches what you want to do next:
- Select I Already Have a Wallet to restore your existing wallet using your Google or Apple account and 4-digit PIN, or your recovery phrase.
- Select Create a New Wallet to create a new wallet.
