Your Phantom wallet can contain multiple accounts. Each account includes addresses for every supported network, and you can use different accounts for different purposes (for example, long-term holdings vs. daily activity).
As your wallet grows, it helps to understand how to view, organize, and manage accounts across chains.
To learn the basics, see About wallets, accounts, and addresses in Phantom.
View accounts in Phantom
The accounts you see in Phantom can come from several sources, including:
- Accounts created from the same recovery phrase or email login
- Accounts created from different recovery phrases
- Accounts imported using private keys
- View-only accounts
- Accounts from a Ledger hardware wallet
Browser extension
- Click your profile avatar in the upper-left corner.
- Click Manage Accounts (pencil icon).
- View all loaded accounts and balances.
Mobile app
- Tap your profile avatar in the upper-left corner.
- View all loaded accounts and balances.
Add an account
Each new account is generated from your wallet’s recovery phrase or email login and creates a new address on every supported network.
If you’ve imported more than one recovery phrase, Phantom asks which one you want to derive the new account from.
Browser extension
- Click your profile avatar in the upper-left corner.
- Click Add Account (plus icon).
- Click Create New Account.
- (Optional) Enter a name and choose an emoji.
- Click Create.
Mobile app
- Tap your profile avatar in the upper-left corner.
- Tap Add Account.
- Tap Create New Account.
- (Optional) Enter a name.
- Click Create.
Tip: Send a small transaction to each new account. Phantom automatically restores accounts with past activity when you recover your wallet. For email login wallets, only the first account is restored, and you’ll need to manually add the rest.
Edit an account name and avatar
Naming accounts makes them easier to identify and helps you stay organized (for example, “Burner,” “Airdrops,” or “NFTs”).
Browser extension
- Click your profile avatar in the upper-left corner.
- Click Manage Accounts (pencil icon).
- Click the account you want to edit.
- Click Account Name.
- Enter a new name and choose an emoji.
- Save your changes.
Mobile app
- Tap your profile avatar in the upper-left corner.
- Tap the pencil icon next to the account you want to edit.
- Tap Account Name.
- Enter a new name and choose an emoji.
- Tap anywhere on the screen to save.
Remove an account
You can remove an account as long as it isn’t your only account.
- Removing an account doesn't delete it from the blockchain
- Removing an account doesn't remove your funds
- Removing an account can be undone by adding the account back later
Removing an account only affects what’s shown in Phantom. It does not delete your account or assets from the blockchain.
Browser extension
- Click your profile avatar in the upper-left corner.
- Click Manage Accounts (pencil icon).
- Select the account and click Remove Account.
Mobile app
- Tap your profile avatar in the upper-left corner.
- Tap the pencil icon next to the account name.
- Tap Remove Account.
If you imported another recovery phrase in addition to the existing one, removing all accounts tied to that phrase will also remove the recovery phrase. You can re-import it later from a backup.
Tip: Want to permantently delete your wallet? See How to delete your Phantom wallet.
Add an account you previously removed
If you removed an account (accidentally or on purpose), you can add it back at any time. To re-add an account, select your profile avatar → Add Account → Create New Account → Create.
Phantom re-creates the same account from your recovery phrase. If the account doesn’t appear after you add a few accounts, this means you're using a different recovery phrase. For help, see Why are some accounts missing after I imported my wallet?
Remove a recovery phrase
Warning: Only remove a recovery phrase if you have it backed up securely offline. If you remove it and lose your backup, you won’t be able to restore those accounts.
If you imported more than one recovery phrase, you can remove one without affecting the others. Removing a recovery phrase removes all accounts linked to this recovery phrase from the Phantom app. It doesn’t affect your addresses or assets on the blockchain.

FAQ
Is my account name public?
No. Your account names aren't public information. Other people can’t see your current account name, and they can’t see any past names if you rename the account.
