Manage your accounts in Phantom

Your Phantom wallet can hold multiple accounts. Each account includes addresses on every supported network. Use different accounts for different purposes, such as long-term holdings, predictions, perp trading, or collectibles.

When a wallet is first created, it has one account. Additional accounts don't appear on their own; they're created through specific actions in the app. Accounts can come from several sources:

  • Accounts created from your wallet's Secret Recovery Phrase (whether your wallet was created with a Google or Apple account, or explicitly with a recovery phrase)
  • Accounts from imported recovery phrases
  • Accounts from imported private keys
  • Accounts from Ledger hardware wallets
  • Watch-only accounts

View and manage accounts

See all the accounts in your wallet in one place. From here you can switch between them, rename them, rearrange them, or remove them.

Browser extension

  1. Click your profile avatar in the upper left.
  2. Click Manage Accounts.
  3. View all your accounts.

  1. On the Home tab, tap your account name above your balance.

Switch accounts

Switch the account you're actively using. The selected account is the one that sends, receives, and signs transactions until you switch again.

Browser extension

  1. Click your profile avatar in the upper left.
  2. Click the account you want to switch to.

  2. Tap the account you want to switch to.

Rename and customize accounts

Give accounts custom names and avatars to tell them apart. Account names and avatars are private and not visible to anyone else.

Browser extension

  1. Click your profile avatar in the upper left.
  2. Click Manage Accounts.
  3. Click the account you want to edit.
  4. Choose a new name and avatar, then confirm.

Mobile app

  1. On the Home tab, tap your account name above your balance.
  2. Tap the pencil icon next to the account you want to edit.
  3. Choose a new name and avatar, then confirm.

Rearrange accounts

Reorder accounts to keep your most-used ones at the top.

Browser extension

  1. Click your profile avatar in the upper left.
  2. Click Manage Accounts.
  3. Drag and drop the account to rearrange.

Mobile app

  1. On the Home tab, tap your account name above your balance.
  2. Drag and drop the account to rearrange.

Remove accounts

Removing an account removes it from the Phantom app. It doesn't delete anything from the blockchain or affect your funds. You can add the account back at any time.

Mobile app

  1. On the Home tab, tap your account name above your balance.
  2. Tap the pencil icon next to the account you want to remove.
  3. Tap Remove Account.

Browser extension

  1. Click your profile avatar in the upper left.
  2. Click Manage Accounts.
  3. Click the account you want to remove.
  4. Click Remove Account.

If you imported multiple recovery phrases, removing all accounts tied to one phrase also removes that phrase from Phantom. You can re-import it later.

FAQ

I accidentally removed an account. How do I add it back?

Select your profile avatar in the upper left, then select Add AccountCreate New AccountCreate. See Add accounts to Phantom after initial setup.

Are my account names public?

No. Account names are private and not visible to anyone else.
