Phantom is a self-custodial wallet. Your wallet and accounts are never stored on Phantom's servers. This means that "deleting" your wallet works differently depending on how it was created.
For recovery-phrase wallets, there is no centralized account to delete. Deleting the app is the equivalent of account deletion.
For Google or Apple wallets, deleting your wallet unlinks your email from your Phantom profile and Phantom Cash account. Your wallet addresses remain on the blockchain permanently and are no longer connected to your login.
In both cases, wallet addresses and transaction history remain on the blockchain permanently and cannot be erased.

Before you delete
Both wallet types allow you to export your Secret Recovery Phrase before deleting, so you can restore your wallet later if you change your mind. Go to Settings → Security & Privacy → Show Recovery Phrase. See View your recovery phrase or private key in Phantom.
Warning: Never share your Secret Recovery Phrase, private keys, or PIN with anyone, including Phantom Support.
Google or Apple wallets
Browser extension
The Delete Wallet button is currently grayed out on the browser extension. To delete your wallet, you have two options:
- Contact Phantom Support to request deletion.
- Install the Phantom mobile app, log in with the same Google or Apple account, and follow the mobile steps.
Mobile app
- Tap your profile avatar in the upper left.
- Go to Settings → Security & Privacy.
- Tap Delete Wallet.
- Phantom will inform you that your Cash account is linked to this wallet and will also be deleted. Tap Continue to proceed.
- If your Cash account has a balance, Phantom will offer to transfer it out. Tap Transfer and enter a destination wallet address that you'll have access to in the future, or tap Continue Anyway to skip and proceed with deletion immediately.
- Tap Delete Wallet to confirm.
- Read the disclaimer and tap Continue.
- Phantom will prompt you to view your recovery phrase. Tap Continue. Even if you don't plan to restore the wallet, this phrase lets you recover your addresses later since they remain on the blockchain.
- Write down your recovery phrase and keep it somewhere safe. Tap Done.
- Phantom will offer to reset the app to remove all existing accounts and local data. Tap Continue.
- You're returned to the starting screen. Your email has been unlinked from your Phantom profile and Cash account.
- Uninstall Phantom from all your devices.
Recovery phrase wallets
Phantom is a self-custodial wallet. There is no centralized account to delete. Uninstalling the app is the equivalent of account deletion. Your wallet addresses remain on the blockchain permanently, but once the app is removed you will no longer have access to them through Phantom.
