Delete your Phantom wallet

  • Updated

Phantom is a self-custodial wallet—your wallet and accounts aren't stored on Phantom's servers. Wallet addresses and transaction history remain on the blockchain permanently. Deleting or removing Phantom from your device doesn't erase your wallet from the blockchain.

Google or Apple login SettingsSecurity & PrivacyDelete Wallet to unlink, then uninstall Phantom
Recovery phrase Simply uninstall Phantom

Before you begin

Both Google or Apple login wallets and recovery phrase wallets allow you to export the recovery phrase so you can restore your wallet later if you change your mind and want to use it again.

Go to SettingsSecurity & PrivacyShow Recovery Phrase. See View your recovery phrase or private key in Phantom.

Warning: Never share your recovery phrase, private keys, or PIN with anyone, including Phantom Support.

Google or Apple login wallets

  1. Select your profile avatar in the upper left.
  2. Go to SettingsSecurity & Privacy.
  3. Select Delete Wallet and follow the prompts. This disconnects the wallet from your email login.
  4. Uninstall Phantom from all your devices.

Your wallet addresses remain on the blockchain but are no longer linked to your account.

If Delete Wallet is grayed out, you have an active Cash account. Contact support to close your Cash account first—once it's closed, you can return to SettingsSecurity & PrivacyDelete Wallet to complete the process. See Close your Cash account.

Recovery phrase wallets

Uninstall Phantom from all your devices. Your wallet addresses remain on the blockchain.
