How to connect Phantom to an app

  • Updated

When you connect your Phantom wallet to an app (also called a decentralized app or dApp), the app can see your public address and request transaction approvals. Only connect to apps you trust.

Important: On mobile, always connect to apps using Phantom’s in-app browser (Explore → enter URL → open) so the connection stays inside Phantom. Don't use other mobile browsers.

Connect Phantom to an app

Browser extension

When connecting to an app on your computer, use a supported browser where the Phantom extension is installed: Chrome, Brave, Edge, Opera (and other Chromium browsers), Firefox and Tor. Safari isn't currently supported.

  1. Click Explore.
  2. Search for the app and open its site in your browser.
  3. On the site, click Connect wallet (often in the upper-right) and choose Phantom.
  4. In the Phantom pop-up, review the details and click Connect.
  5. If prompted, approve a Sign message request to finish connecting.

Mobile app

When connecting to an app on mobile, you must use Phantom’s in-app browser. This allows Phantom to connect securely to apps directly from your smartphone. Other mobile browsers don’t support wallet connections with Phantom.

  1. Tap Explore.
  2. Enter the app’s name or URL and then do one of the following:
    • If the app appears under Sites: tap it, then tap Open to launch it in Phantom’s in-app browser.
    • If the app doesn’t appear under Sites: tap Search with Google, then open the app’s website from the search results. The site will load in Phantom’s in-app browser.
  3. In the app, tap Connect wallet (or a similar button) and choose Phantom.
  4. In the Phantom sheet, review the details and tap Connect.
  5. If prompted, approve a Sign message request to finish connecting.
