Why does my wallet only show a Solana address?

  • Updated

If your wallet only shows a Solana address and not Ethereum, Base, Sui, Polygon, or other supported chains, it likely means you imported a Solana private key. Private key imports are limited to the chain they were created for.

When you import a wallet using a Solana private key, Phantom creates a single-chain wallet that supports only Solana. This type of wallet can’t support other chains.

Phantom’s multi-chain wallets are only available if you create a new wallet in Phantom or import a wallet from another app into Phantom.

If you want a wallet that supports Solana, Ethereum, Base, Polygon, and other supported chains:

  1. Select your profile avatar in the upper left.
  2. Select Add Account.
  3. Select Create New Account.

This will generate a new multi-chain wallet. You can transfer your Solana funds to this new wallet if needed.
