Reset password in the Phantom browser extension

If you can't log in to the Phantom browser extension, you can wipe the extension and set a new password.

Before you reset

Make sure you have a backup of your wallet, depending on how you set it up:

  • Recovery phrase
  • Access to the Google/Apple account and your four-digit PIN

Reset password

To reset the extension password, follow these steps:

  1. Click Forgot password → Reset & wipe app.
  2. After the reset, select I already have a wallet in the new browser tab.
  3. Restore your wallet using one of these methods:
    • Apple or Google account: Click Connect Email Wallet, then click Apple or Google, and then enter your 4-digit PIN.
    • Recovery phrase: Click Import Recovery Phrase and enter your recovery phrase.

Phantom only uses a password on the browser extension to unlock the wallet locally. Your wallet and funds remain safe as long as you still have your PIN or recovery phrase.
