If you can't sign in to the Phantom browser extension, you can wipe it, re-import your wallet, and set a new password.
Before you start
Depending on how your wallet was created, here's what you'll need:
- If you used a Google or Apple account, make sure you still have access to your Google or Apple account and remember your four-digit PIN.
- If you used a Secret Recovery Phrase, have the recovery phrase written somewhere.
- If you imported additional recovery phrases or private keys into Phantom, you'll need to have those saved somewhere safe and offline.
For instructions, see View your recovery phrase or private keys in Phantom.
Reset password
To reset the extension password, follow these steps:
- Click the Phantom browser extension icon.
- Click Forgot password → Reset & wipe app.
- After the reset, Phantom reopens in a new tab.
- Click I Already Have a Wallet, then Continue with Email.
- Restore your wallet using your original credentials.
Phantom only uses a password on the browser extension to unlock the wallet locally. Your wallet and funds remain safe as long as you still have your PIN or recovery phrase.
