Reset the password in the Phantom browser extension

  • Updated

If you've forgotten the password for the Phantom browser extension, you can reset it by restoring your wallet with your original credentials. This password unlocks Phantom in your current browser and doesn't affect your wallet or recovery credentials.

Before you start

Make sure you have the credentials you used to create your wallet:

  • Google or Apple wallet: access to your Google or Apple account and, if prompted, your four-digit PIN.
  • Recovery phrase wallet: your 12 or 24-word Secret Recovery Phrase.
  • If you imported additional recovery phrases or private keys, have those ready too. They won't come back automatically after the reset.

If you need to find your credentials first, see View your recovery phrase or private keys in Phantom.

Reset your password

  1. Click the Phantom browser extension icon.
  2. Click Forgot passwordReset & wipe app.
  3. Phantom reopens in a new tab after the reset.
  4. Click I Already Have a Wallet.
  5. Restore your wallet using your original credentials and set a new password.
