This article answers common questions about Phantom Cash, your Cash account, the CASH stablecoin, yield, KYC, and the Phantom Cash debit card.

What can I do with Phantom Cash?

Phantom Cash lets you use crypto like everyday money:

  • Quick sell crypto: Go from crypto to cash in just a few taps.
  • Peer-to-peer payments: Send money to any Phantom username.
  • DeFi support: Use your CASH token in DeFi apps like Kamino for lending, borrowing, or liquidity.
  • Instant bank funding (US only): Link a bank account or card to add funds and start using them.
  • Phantom Cash debit card (US only): Spend your Cash balance anywhere Visa is accepted, including Apple Pay and Google Pay.
  • Virtual account to get paid (US only): Get routing and account numbers after one-time KYC.

Does Phantom Cash work on all chains?

No. Phantom Cash works only on Solana. Your Cash account is a separate Solana wallet tied to your Phantom username. It can hold CASH, but it can't receive tokens from other networks such as Ethereum or Polygon. If you hold USDC or other tokens on a different network (for example, Ethereum), you must bridge or transfer them to Solana before you can swap them into Phantom Cash.

Where can I see my Cash balance?

To see your Cash account balance in the Phantom mobile app, tap the Cash tab at the bottom (looks like a credit card).

Can I use Phantom Cash in the browser extension?

No. Your Cash account is available only in the Phantom mobile app. There’s no browser extension support for Phantom Cash at this time.

Where is Phantom Cash available?

Phantom Cash is available worldwide. Offchain features are available in the US only (except NY/AK).

How can I fund my Cash account?

You can fund your Phantom Cash account ("Cash account") in a few ways:

  • Sell Solana-based tokens (the Quick Sell Crypto option).
  • Receive direct peer-to-peer payments from other Phantom users.
  • Add cash using a linked US bank account, debit card, or Apple Pay (US only, requires KYC and waitlist access).
  • Deposit via ACH or domestic wire using your Cash account’s routing and account numbers (US only, requires KYC and waitlist access).

Can I remove myself from the waitlist?

No, there's currently no option to be removed from the Phantom Cash waitlist.

Why am I still on the waitlist to get Cash even if I'm in the US?

Phantom Cash is being rolled out gradually across the US. Stay tuned for updates in the app.

When will Apple Pay be available?

Adding cash with Apple Pay (or a linked bank account or card) is an offchain feature that’s available only in the US (except NY/AK). It isn’t available outside the US yet.

To get updates, join the waitlist in the Cash tab in the Phantom mobile app or at phantom.com/cash.

In the meantime, you can fund your Cash account by swapping crypto using Add CashQuick Sell Crypto.

When will the debit card be available?

The Phantom Cash Debit card is an offchain feature that’s available only in the US (except NY/AK). It isn’t available outside the US yet.

To get updates, join the waitlist in the Cash tab in the Phantom mobile app or at phantom.com/cash.

How can I send money from my Cash account?

You can send money out of your Cash account in the following ways:

  • Send to Phantom usernames. If the recipient has Phantom Cash activated, funds arrive in their Cash account. Otherwise, they arrive as CASH in their wallet.
  • Send to Solana wallet addresses, where funds arrive as CASH.
  • Send to US bank accounts as USD (US only and requires KYC).
  • Send to exchanges (limited support). Some exchanges may accept CASH on Solana (for example, Kraken). If the exchange doesn’t support CASH, swap CASH to a supported token (such as USDC or SOL) before sending.

Can I send CASH to exchanges?

Some exchanges support CASH on Solana, but most don't. Sending CASH to an unsupported exchange results in lost funds.

Before sending, check Supported exchanges for Phantom Cash for a list of compatible exchanges and instructions.

If your exchange doesn't support CASH, withdraw to your Phantom wallet, swap for a token the exchange accepts (such as USDC or SOL), and send that instead.

Why did my friend receive CASH instead of a Cash balance?

This depends on whether the recipient has Phantom Cash activated.

  • If the recipient has Phantom Cash activated, funds you send to their username arrive in their Cash account and appear in the Cash tab.
  • If the recipient hasn’t activated Phantom Cash, the funds arrive as the CASH stablecoin in their wallet instead.

If the recipient activates Phantom Cash later, they can move the CASH balance into their Cash account by opening the Cash tab and selecting Add CashQuick Sell Crypto.

How do I connect my bank account to my Cash account?

If you're in the US (except NY/AK), you can connect your bank account to withdraw funds from your Cash account to USD:

  1. Go to the Cash tab and tap WithdrawTo Bank Account.
  2. Follow the prompts to add your bank details.

This feature requires KYC. Only US bank accounts are supported. Non-US bank accounts can’t be linked.

Why does my total balance look higher than it should?

If you have multiple accounts in Phantom, your Cash account balance appears added to each account’s total in the account picker.

For example, if you have $200 in Cash account and $50 in each of two non-Cash accounts, the picker may show $500 total even though your actual combined balance is $300.

This happens because your Cash account balance is displayed alongside each account’s total for convenience. Your actual funds aren't duplicated, and your Cash account is a single amount held separately.

What if I change my Phantom username?

If you change your Phantom username, your Cash account remains under your control. It’s tied to a unique identifier associated with your Phantom profile.

Can I delete my Cash account?

Yes. Contact Phantom Support for assistance. If you have any balance in your account, consider transferring it to another wallet or swapping into a Solana-based token before deleting your Cash account.

Can anyone pull money out of my Cash account?

No. Only you control your Cash account. Your balance is held in a self-custodial smart-contract wallet on Solana, which means:

  • Only you can move funds using your wallet credentials.
  • Phantom, Bridge, Stripe, or any partner can't access or withdraw your funds.
  • No one can pull money out without your authorization.

You can always move your Cash account balance yourself, by sending funds to another Phantom user, Solana wallets, or swapping into Solana-based tokens.

Can I use a Ledger wallet?

Partially. The Quick Sell Crypto option isn't available for Ledger accounts. Swaps and withdrawals from Cash to a Ledger wallet don't require signing on the device. 

Identity verification (KYC)

Is KYC required to use Phantom Cash?

  • You’re not required to complete KYC to use Phantom or Phantom Cash.
  • However, KYC is mandatory to access certain Phantom Cash features, including bank transfers, direct deposit, and the Phantom Cash debit card. These features are unavailable unless identity verification is completed.
  • Debit cards are issued through a regulated card program partner and are subject to applicable financial and identity-verification requirements.
  • Identity verification is handled by Stripe. Phantom receives your verification status, not your identity documents.

How does Phantom use my KYC information?

When you complete KYC in Phantom, your verification status is linked to a unique identifier associated with your Phantom profile for Phantom Cash features. We don’t link or correlate your KYC information with your non-Phantom Cash wallet addresses. KYC is required only for certain features like on-ramps, direct deposits, and debit card payments. You can hold and use your Phantom Cash balance onchain without KYC.

Can I delete my KYC and start over after I’ve been verified?

Once verification is complete, it can’t be reset on the same Phantom profile. To start fresh, create a new Phantom wallet and verify again with a different email address.

Can I have more than one Cash account with the same KYC?

Yes. You can have multiple Cash accounts under different Phantom usernames, and you can onboard each one using the same KYC information, including email and phone number.

Can Stripe delete my saved information?

Yes. You can request Stripe to delete your identity documents, payment method, or your Link account. For more details, see Delete information saved with Link and How to delete your saved identity document.

Phantom Cash debit card

How do I get my Phantom Cash debit card?

After you complete KYC, we’ll prompt you to accept the card terms of use and activate your card. If you skip this step, we won’t create the card. Return to the Cash tab later to finish activation. If you don’t see the prompt, you may need to reverify later to get a card.

Can I get the card delivered to my country?

The virtual Phantom Cash debit card is available only in the US (except NY/AK). The physical card is coming soon in the US. We don’t have a timeline to share for other regions, but availability will expand over time. You can join the waitlist from the Cash tab in the app or at phantom.com/cash for updates.

How long should I wait for my Phantom Cash debit card?

If you’re in the US (except NY/AK), your Phantom Cash debit card becomes available once you’re taken off the waitlist and your KYC is approved. There’s no additional waiting period after those steps are complete.

If you’re outside the US, the Phantom Cash debit card isn’t available yet. We don’t have a timeline to share for other regions.

How does the Phantom Cash debit card work?

If eligible, your Cash account includes the Phantom Cash debit card, a stablecoin-linked Visa card that works anywhere Visa, Apple Pay, or Google Pay are accepted. When you pay, Bridge (our payments provider) draws CASH from your Cash account balance and converts it to USD so the merchant is paid like any standard Visa transaction. You can use your card online, in apps, and in-store wherever Visa is accepted.

Onchain, you’ll see a transfer from your Cash account to Bridge’s debit-card smart contract; merchant names, items, and receipts aren’t visible.

This card works with crypto in such a way that you can spend your onchain balance like everyday money.

Can I use my card with Apple Pay or Google Pay?

Yes. You can add your Phantom Cash debit card to Apple Pay/Google Pay in the Phantom app or in the respective wallet app. Once verified, you can use your card for contactless payments and online purchases.

Why was I asked for a PIN when paying with my Phantom Cash debit card?

By default, your Phantom Cash debit card has no PIN set. Most US merchants don’t require a PIN for contactless or credit-style transactions, but some may still prompt for one.

If you’re asked for a PIN and haven’t set one yet, you can usually press Enter or skip PIN entry to proceed. However, some terminals may require a PIN. If that happens, open the Cash tab in your Phantom app, tap your card, then tap Change PIN to set one before retrying.

How can I change the name on my card?

If you want to change the name on your Phantom Cash debit card, contact Phantom Support.

Can I view my card statement?

You can view your Phantom Cash and debit card transactions in the Activity section on the Cash tab. We’ll also send card statements by email when that feature becomes available.

How can I earn yield with CASH?

You can earn yield with your CASH stablecoin by depositing it to apps such as Kamino. For more details, see Use CASH stablecoin in apps.
