Closing your Cash account is permanent and cannot be undone. Cash account closure happens as part of deleting your Phantom wallet. This article explains what information is deleted, what remains, and what happens to your identity verification data.
For instructions, see Delete your Phantom wallet.
What gets deleted
- Your virtual account routing and account numbers used for bank transfers and domestic wires (US only)
- Your Phantom debit card (US only)
What does not get deleted
- Your wallet addresses and transaction history. These remain on the blockchain permanently and cannot be erased.
- Your username. If you delete your wallet and later re-create one with the same email, your username remains reserved to that email.
- Your identity verification (KYC) data. KYC data is held by Link, not by Phantom. Closing your Cash account does not delete your Link account or your KYC data. To delete your Link account separately, go to app.link.com, then Settings, then select Delete Account. Link may retain certain data in accordance with their own retention policies even after your account is deleted.
