You can create a new Phantom wallet in two ways. Both are self-custodial, which means only you control your wallet and assets.
Warning: Never share your Secret Recovery Phrase with anyone, including Phantom support. Store it in a secure, offline location.
Choose the setup method that works best for you:
- Recovery phrase: You receive a 12-word Secret Recovery Phrase that gives you full control of your wallet. Write it down and store it securely offline. You can use it to restore your wallet on any device or import it into other wallet apps that support the same standard.
- Google or Apple account and four-digit PIN: You sign in with your Google or Apple account and set a four-digit PIN. You need both your login method and your PIN to restore your wallet. Your wallet still has a recovery phrase, which you can export and store offline as an additional backup.
Phantom never holds your private key and does not control your assets.
