You can buy tokens in Phantom using a debit card, Apple Pay, PayPal, or a bank transfer. This is sometimes called onramp or buying tokens for fiat, which means converting traditional currency such as USD or EUR into cryptocurrencies such SOL or USDC.
How it works
Purchases are handled by a third-party onramp provider, not by Phantom. When you tap or click Buy, Phantom shows you the providers available in your region. You choose a provider, complete checkout on their platform, and the provider delivers the tokens directly to your wallet.
Because each provider operates independently, the following all vary by provider and region:
- Which tokens are available to buy
- Which payment methods are accepted (debit or credit card, Apple Pay, bank transfer, PayPal, and so on)
- Purchase minimums and limits
- Fees and exchange rates
- Identity verification (KYC) requirements
- How long delivery takes after payment
For a full list of supported providers and their support contact details, see Onramp providers in Phantom.

Instant buy with Apple Pay (US only)
On iOS, you can buy certain tokens on Solana instantly using Apple Pay through a checkout flow powered by Crossmint. To use this option, you need to be located in the US and have a Phantom wallet created with a Google or Apple login. Recovery-phrase wallets are not supported.
- Open a token page and tap Buy.
- Tap the payment method in the lower left and select Apple Pay.
- Enter the amount you want to purchase or choose one of the quick buy options.
- Tap Continue.
- On your first purchase, review and agree to Crossmint's terms.
- Tap the Apple Pay button and confirm the payment with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.
After payment, Crossmint completes the order and delivers the tokens to your wallet. You can also find tokens available for instant checkout on the Explore tab. This flow has a daily purchase limit of $1,000.
Note: The instant checkout with Apple Pay option is an experimental feature and may not always be available, even if you have used it before. If it no longer appears, use the standard Buy flow and select a provider that supports Apple Pay in your region.
FAQ
Which providers are available in my region?
See Onramp providers in Phantom for a full list of providers in your region. Note that depending on the token and purchase amount, some providers may not be available.
Can I buy any token with the Buy flow?
No. Popular tokens such as SOL, ETH, USDC, and BTC are generally available, but others such as DOGE, PEPE, and other meme coins may not be. A token needs to be supported both by Phantom and by at least one provider available in your region. To check, tap or click Buy and search for the token.
How do I know which provider handled my purchase?
The provider's name is shown during checkout and in the email receipt they send after the transaction. If you're not sure, check your email for a message from MoonPay, Topper, Stripe (sent as Link), Coinbase, or another provider. You can also check your card or bank statement. The charge will show the provider's name, not Phantom's.
Once you've identified the provider, see Onramp providers in Phantom for their support contact details.
Why is Phantom redirecting me to Meld?
Meld is a payment infrastructure platform that some onramp providers use to process purchases. If you're redirected to meldcrypto.com or meldphantom.com during checkout, it means the provider you selected routes its checkout flow through Meld. This is expected and safe. You're still completing a purchase through your chosen provider, just on Meld's platform.
If you have questions about the purchase, contact the provider you selected at the start of checkout. See Onramp providers in Phantom for support links.
I can't use the Buy flow. What are my other options?
If no providers are available in your region, your payment method keeps getting declined, or the Buy flow doesn't work for your situation, you can still get tokens into your Phantom wallet two other ways:
- Buy on an exchange and transfer in. Purchase tokens on a centralized exchange such as Coinbase, Binance, or Kraken, then send it to your Phantom wallet address. Make sure to select the correct network when withdrawing from the exchange.
- Receive from another wallet. If you already hold tokens in another wallet, you can send it directly to your Phantom wallet address on the same network.
For instructions on how to receive tokens in Phantom, see Receive tokens in Phantom.
Common issues
What Phantom can and cannot help with
Because purchases are handled by a third-party provider, Phantom cannot speed up or cancel purchases, issue refunds, access your provider account, or resolve identity verification (KYC) issues. For any of these, contact the provider directly. See Onramp providers in Phantom for support links.
No providers are showing up
This can happen for two reasons:
- Your region isn't supported. Onramp providers are region-restricted. If none are available in your region, the Buy flow will show no options and you won't be able to complete a purchase through Phantom.
- The amount is below the provider's minimum. Try increasing the amount or selecting a different provider.
Note: UPI and PhonePe are not supported payment methods in the Phantom Buy flow.
My payment method keeps being declined
Your bank or card issuer may block crypto purchases by default. Try a different payment method (debit card, bank transfer, or Apple Pay), or select a different provider at the Buy screen. If the decline comes from the provider's side, contact their support team directly. See Onramp providers in Phantom for support links.
I can't complete identity verification
Providers may require identity verification to comply with financial regulations. If verification is failing, contact the provider directly. Phantom cannot access or assist with provider-side KYC issues. See Onramp providers in Phantom for support links.
My account is blocked
If a provider blocks your account, the restriction comes from their compliance team. Phantom cannot see why you were blocked or unblock your account. Contact the provider's support team directly. See Onramp providers in Phantom for support links.
Tokens I bought haven't arrived
First, identify which provider handled your purchase by checking your email receipt or your card or bank statement. The provider's name, not Phantom's, will appear on the charge.
Then:
- Check your inbox for a receipt or order confirmation from the provider.
- Look up the transaction status on the provider's website or app.
- Contact the provider if the delay exceeds the timeframe shown in your receipt.
See Onramp providers in Phantom for support links.
I was charged unexpected fees or ran into limits
Purchase limits, fees, and exchange rates are set by each provider and vary. To compare, go back to the Buy screen and select a different provider. See Onramp providers in Phantom for a full list of available providers in your region.
