Buy tokens in Phantom

You can buy tokens in Phantom using Apple Pay, PayPal, a debit card, or a bank transfer. This is sometimes called on-ramping or buying crypto for fiat—converting traditional currency into crypto.

The purchase and delivery of your tokens is handled by a third-party on-ramp provider—not by Phantom. Phantom is an interface between you and the provider.

Browser extension

  1. On the Home tab, click Buy. Or open any token, click MoreCash Buy to pre-fill the token.
  2. Choose the token you want to buy. Skip this if already prefilled.
  3. Enter the amount you’d like to purchase or choose one of the quick buy options.
  4. Choose a provider. Availability may vary by region.
  5. Log in or create an account with the selected provider.
  6. Complete your purchase by following the provider’s on-screen instructions.

Mobile app

  1. On the Home tab, tap Buy. Or open any token, tap MoreCash Buy to pre-fill the token.
  2. Choose the token you want to buy. Skip this if already prefilled.
  3. Enter the amount you’d like to purchase or choose one of the quick buy options.
  4. Choose a provider. Availability may vary by region.
  5. Log in or create an account with the selected provider.
  6. Complete your purchase by following the provider’s on-screen instructions.

After you complete your purchase, the provider will initiate a transaction to deliver your tokens. Delivery time depends on the provider's processing time and how long it takes to verify your payment.

Key things to know

The purchase and delivery of your tokens is handled by a third-party on-ramp provider—not by Phantom. Phantom is an interface between you and the provider. This means Phantom cannot help with any of the following:

  • Speed up or cancel purchases
  • Issue refunds
  • Access your provider account
  • Resolve verification or KYC issues

My payment method keeps being declined

When you attempt to buy tokens using a third-party provider, your bank or card issuer may reject the purchase because it blocks crypto buys by default. Try the following:

  • Use a different payment method (debit card, bank transfer, Apple Pay).
  • Try a different provider if multiple are available in your region.

I can't complete identity verification

Providers require identity verification (KYC) to comply with financial regulations. Phantom does not verify users, store your personal information, or review KYC submissions. This is handled entirely by the provider.

Follow the provider's instructions first. You can also try the following:

  • Make sure your ID is clearly photographed with all corners visible.
  • Try a different phone number if SMS verification isn't working.
  • Contact the provider's support team for help with stuck or rejected verifications.
  • Try a different provider if one isn't working for you.

My account is blocked

If a provider blocks your account due to non-compliance with their terms and conditions or another reason, the restriction comes from the provider's compliance team. Phantom cannot see why you were blocked or unblock your account.

Contact the provider's support team directly to learn why your account was blocked and how to resolve it.

Tokens I bought haven't arrived

Purchases can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours to complete, depending on the provider's processing time and how long it takes to verify your payment.

If your tokens haven't arrived, try the following:

  1. Check your email for a receipt or order confirmation from the provider.
  2. Look up the transaction status in the provider's website.
  3. Contact the provider if the delay exceeds the timeframe shown in your receipt.

Only the provider can investigate order status and delivery issues.

I was charged unexpected fees or ran into limits

Fees, exchange rates, and purchase limits are set by the provider. If you have questions about charges or limits, contact the provider directly or compare rates by trying a different provider.
