I'm having trouble funding my Cash account

  • Updated

If you're having trouble adding money to your Cash account, this article may help. Deposits can fail or take longer than expected because of a declined payment method, a funding limit, a location requirement, or a missing verification step.

Deposit errors and delays

Your deposit is still pending

Deposits through Stripe typically complete within two to three minutes. If yours is still pending, it may still be processing.

If your deposit has been pending for more than 48 hours, excluding weekends and bank holidays, contact Phantom Support.

Your same-day deposit shows as next-day

A next-day date can appear because of normal processing timelines. Your funds are likely still on their way.

If the funds don't arrive within 48 hours, excluding weekends and bank holidays, contact Phantom Support.

Your payment method was declined

Your card or bank may decline the payment because of insufficient funds, crypto-related transaction restrictions, or other blocks. Not all cards are supported when adding funds through Stripe.

Try a different card or payment method. For more information, see Supported cards.

Your bank is blocking the deposit

Some banks block crypto-related transactions regardless of the card used. If deposits keep failing across multiple cards, try a different bank account or use Direct Deposit, if available.

You've reached your deposit limit

Stripe deposits are subject to a rolling limit based on a seven-day trailing window. Your limit doesn't reset daily. It may not refresh exactly 24 hours after a deposit.

If you've reached your limit, use Direct Deposit, if available, or wait until more of your rolling limit opens up. For more information, see Funding limits.

You're not in the required location

Some Cash funding options require you to be in a specific location:

  • Bank, Card, or Apple Pay (Stripe): You need to be physically located in the US.
  • Direct Deposit: You need to be physically located in your verified state.

Make sure you're in the right location before trying again. You can also use Quick Sell Crypto to fund your Cash account, if available.

Funding options not available

"No tokens to sell"

This message means you don't have enough tokens on Solana in your wallet. Add at least $1 of a Solana token, such as SOL or USDC, by purchasing or receiving it. See Fund your Phantom wallet for more information.

"Verification Required"

This message means you haven't completed the identity verification (KYC) required to use some funding options. Complete verification, then try again. See Get started with Cash for more information.
