If you lost your Secret Recovery Phrase (SRP) or private key, what happens next depends on whether you still have access to your Phantom wallet.
Warning: Phantom can’t recover lost recovery phrases or private keys. If you lose access to your wallet and don’t have a backup, your funds are permanently inaccessible.
If you still have access to your Phantom wallet
You can view and back up your recovery phrase or private key by following these steps:
Browser extension
- Open the Phantom extension.
- Click your account avatar (top left).
- Click the pencil icon (Manage Accounts) in the bottom left.
- Select the account you want to manage.
- Click Show Recovery Phrase or Show Private Key.
- Follow the prompts to view and copy your credentials.
Mobile app
- Open the Phantom mobile app.
- Tap your account avatar (top left).
- Tap the pencil icon next to the account.
- Select Show Recovery Phrase or Show Private Key.
- Follow the prompts to copy your credentials.
If you no longer have access to your wallet
If you’ve deleted Phantom, lost your device, or can’t open the app, and you don’t have your recovery phrase or private key, then your wallet can't be recovered.
Phantom doesn't store your credentials, so no one (not even our team) can restore access for you.
Looking for a simpler recovery option?
Phantom offers Apple or Google login for new wallets. This links your wallet to your email and a secure PIN, allowing you to recover access without a recovery phrase or private key. PIN-based recovery is available only for wallets created using Apple or Google login.
