Sent tokens to an exchange and they haven’t arrived
If you sent tokens from Phantom to an exchange, such as Coinbase or Binance, and they haven’t appeared in your exchange account, check the deposit details and transaction status before contacting the exchange.
Deposits may be delayed or fail to appear if the exchange doesn’t support the token or network, the deposit address is incorrect, or required deposit information is missing.
Note: This guide covers tokens sent from Phantom to an exchange. For transfers in the other direction, see Sent tokens to Phantom and they haven't arrived.
1. Check the deposit details #
Check the exchange’s deposit instructions and confirm the following:
- The exchange supports both the token and the network you used. If you sent CASH, see Using CASH token on exchanges and brokerages.
- The destination address matches the deposit address provided by the exchange.
- You included all required deposit information.
If the token or network isn’t supported, the address is incorrect, or required information is missing, recovery may not be possible.
2. Check the transaction status #
- In Phantom, open your transaction history and select the transfer.
- Confirm whether the transaction is successful, pending, or failed.
- Open the transaction in a blockchain explorer and check the destination address, token, network, amount, and transaction ID.
What to do next depends on the status:
- Failed: The transfer didn’t complete, so the tokens weren’t successfully sent.
- Pending: Wait for the blockchain transaction to finish processing.
- Successful: The tokens left your wallet. Exchanges may take additional time to credit a deposit after the blockchain transaction is complete.
If the transaction was successful and the deposit details are correct, contact the exchange to investigate.
3. Contact the exchange #
Contact the exchange's support team and provide the following details:
- Transaction ID
- Your wallet address
- Exchange deposit address
- Token and network used for the transfer
Only the exchange can investigate or credit a deposit to your exchange account. Phantom can’t access your exchange account, reverse the transfer, or credit the deposit.
Troubleshooting #
Unsupported token or network #
An exchange may support a token on one network but not another. If you used an unsupported token or network, contact the exchange to find out whether recovery is possible.
Tokens sent to a contract address #
Look up the destination address in a blockchain explorer to check whether you sent tokens to a contract address.
Token contract addresses are different from exchange deposit addresses. Tokens sent to them may not be recoverable. Contact the exchange for guidance; recovery isn’t guaranteed.
Before sending, always use the deposit address provided by the exchange for the token and network you’ve selected.
